The 26th Ephemeral Exhibition of Decorative Binders

Thanks to Argentinian bookbinder Sol Rebora, we can see what a cozy gathering was the 26th Ephemeral Exhibition of Decorative Binders (Exposition éphémère) this past Thursday in Paris. Sol took part in the event and shared some photos with us.

Les Amis de la Reliure Originale is an association that promotes design binding in France. For 26 years it organizes an annual Ephemeral Exhibition to bring together the best French and European professional bookbinders. The event is designed to establish cooperation between design bookbinders and bibliophiles. Some of the latest bindings are supposed to be shown there so that the visitors can appreciate them.

Sol’s participation marks a big change in the event, as she’s the first bookbinder from the Americas to take part in the Exposition éphémère. Argentina has a rich and active bookbinding scene, and Sol Rebora is a multiple award winner and a dedicated and highly professional bookbinder, so the choice is made very well. We hope that in the future years there will be more bookbinders representedat the Ephemeral Exhibition from South America as well as from other continents.
