Digitized Book: The First Issue of the Russian Magazine “Printing Art” From 1901

This vintage Russian magazine about printing was published for only two years, but it already gave me a lot of insights into the epoch — this time we share the first volume that was published in November 1901.

As with other non-English editions we publish, we encourage you to browse it even if you don’t know the language. They often include illustrations, ads, samples of contemporary workmanship that may inspire you. Besides that, as we publish the texts OCRed, you can use automatic translation to read at least something.

Printing Art, November 1901 (“Печатное искусство”). Softcover, 44pp.; illustrations. Issue 1 of the first year of publication. The magazine was running for two years: from late 1901 until 1903. The issue includes articles about bookplates, lithographic printing, studying printing, news, new patents, and more.

As usual, the book is already available to our patrons at Patreon with pledges of $5 per month or more. Or you can buy this book separately on our Issuu page.
