Boekkunstbeurs is in Three Weeks — Art of Book Fair in Leiden, Netherlands

It’s only three weeks left until Boekkunstbeurs, a fair organized by the bookbinders’ and printers’ guilds of the Netherlands. It means there’s not much time to prepare, but enough time to plan a trip and buy a plane ticket!

I have never been to fairs in the US, but the book fair in Leiden is the most extraordinary event I ever took part in. There are other events I liked, but Boekkunstbeurs is impressive in so many ways, you just have to witness it.

More than a hundred artisans and companies take part in this two-day event. Almost everything bookish is covered here. From bookbinding and printing basics to fine binding, and antique books on the subject.

To make it more interesting, the event takes place in Pieterskerk, a late-Gothic church dedicated to Saint Peter. The setting is astonishing!
