The French Post Issues a New Bookbinding-Themed Stamp

A new stamp is added to the Craftsmanship series (Métiers d’Art) of the French postal service. After carpenters, sculptors, and blacksmiths, the new stamp is dedicated to Bookbinding. And tomorrow you’ll have a chance to get the stamp signed by the artists.

On the 20th of September from 11.00 until 13.00, Florence Gendre and Pierre Albuisson (the artists beyond the new stamp) will host a signing session at le Carré d’Encre postal shop in Paris. I even considered getting plane tickets to get there!

Address: Le Carré d’Encre, 13 bis rue des Mathurins, 75009 Paris.

The pre-sales of the stamp will continue until 17.00 on Friday and from 10.00 until 17.00 on Saturday, 21st of September.

On the stamp: illustration by Florence Gendre from a photo by Ciné Claire Duc books bound by Claire Gendre.
