Sewing Frame for Bookbinding With Hooks for Cord Adjustment

This sewing frame for bookbinders was tested by generations of my students. Easy to assemble and easy to use.

The main difference from the Simple Sewing Frame is that the wooden bar has a slot for metal hooks, that allows to adjust the tension of the tightened cords.

There are three standard sizes for the sewing frame (you can also order a custom size):
– A6 (small);
– A5 (standard size);
– A4 (large).

A6:
– Groove in the base of the sewing frame is 18 cm (7") long;
– Groove in the bar is of the same length;
– Distance between the screws: 20 cm (allow some space for the wing nut);
– Height is 20 cm;
– Bar height is adjustable with wing nuts;
– Three washers and three hooks are included to use as sewing keys.

A5:
– Groove in the base of the sewing frame is 25 cm (10") long;
– Groove in the bar is of the same length;
– Distance between the screws: 30 cm (allow some space for the wing nut);
– Default height is 30 cm, but you can request any height up to 40 cm;
– Bar height is adjustable with wing nuts;
– Five washers and five hooks are included to use as sewing keys.

A4:
– Groove in the base of the sewing frame is 32 cm (12.5") long;
– Groove in the bar is of the same length;
– Distance between the screws: 40 cm (allow some space for the wing nut);
– Default height is 30 cm, but you can request any height up to 50 cm;
– Bar height is adjustable with wing nuts;
– Six washers and six hooks are included to use as sewing keys.
