I’ve been to Nice recently, and couldn’t miss the chance to visit the local book market. It happens every Saturday at the Palace of Justice Square. There I found this nice bookbinding tutorial first published in 1914.
This should be the second edition, as it seems. Printed in 1921. Softcover, 208pp., 51 illustrations.
The study was prepared by Charles Chanat, a professor at the Ecole Estienne. This is the second part, which contains information on three types of binding, including Bradel. Will have to look for the first part next time I visit France.
I really like some of the images here. In old tutorials, one often finds some poorly printed photos. But these drawings in two colors are quite good!
